Babe's Power Skein Winder Assembly Instructions
Yardage counter on
left is optional
Take parts out and put on a table or floor.
Match up the long 3/4" pipes so they have the same end on each piece. Note that the ends are longer on one of the tube.
Using the long tube with the short ends put the end in the elbow of the assemble that has four arms. Put the other end in the opposite elbow.
Next do the same with the long tube with the longer ends.
Decide if you want to use as a table model (recommended) or a floor model. It might be necessary to weigh the base down so it won't tip. Depends a lot on what you are planning to do with this Skein Winder.
For table model put support shaft in the Tee on the base. For floor model put the long 1-1/4" piece in the tee of the base then put on the tee with the motor mount tube and then put on the Skein winder.
Put the arm assembly on the brass axle by taking the collar on the end off and after putting the arm assembly on. Put the collar back. Use Allen wrench provided
OIL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CROSS WHERE IT CONNECTS WITH THE AXLE.
Put the motor group on the right side of base.
Hang the drive band on the special hooks on the back of the arm and on the pulley of the motor. This makes a square wheel that you will be amazed by. The motor does need to hang free. Be sure the drive band lines up with the motor pulley and cup hooks
Plug the Foot Controller into a 110 volt outlet and the other end into the motor being careful to line up the slot in the cord with the plug.
The motor will hang at the end of the drive band.
Using your hand on the Foot Controller see if everything is operational.
Wrap the yarn around the tube with the Babe Aid ( a black Velcro dot) to hold the end when you start. You can use the cup hook on the base to help you guide the yarn on to the Skein Winder.
Have fun skeinning.
