Assembly instructions for Production Pedal Pusher Wheels

     

Bobbin Lead on the left, Flyer Lead in the middle and New Style Bobbin Lead on the right.

  1. Take flyer, bobbins, and wool out box.

  2. Reach down in the box and lift base and wheel out at the same time.

  3. Lift up the main shaft with the Babe's Fiber Garden label to the top and put the shaft on the base.

  4. Put maiden on.

  5. From the back of wheel put the drive band on the maiden.  Lift main shaft off the base and put drive between the wheel and shaft.

  6. For new style the drive band is wrapped around the treadles.  Take it loose and put to the front of the PP.

  7. For new style put the extra long tube on the end cap on the pedal pusher with the label to the top.  At the same time lift maiden and then put maiden on both tubes.

  8. Put the four screws in place one at Maiden end of the main shaft and three in the main shaft at the base.  Put the new for the new style tube in place.

  9. Put drive band on wheel and whorl of bobbin.

  10. From the front tilt wheel to the left and turn rocker arm down and up.  This will engage the pedals to act as double treadle.

  11. Lift drive band up and put on the notches at the top of the maiden.

  12. Put bobbins on the flyer and OIL bearing of the bobbins.

  13. Bobbin Lead put flyer back in maiden and put the leather brake between flyer and orifice bearing tube connecting ends to Velcro..

  14. Flyer Lead put the tension strap over the end of the bobbin and attach ends to the Velcro.

  15. OIL orifice bearing and leather brake plus the rear flyer bearing.

  16. For Bobbin Lead push the leader unto the Babe Aid (3/8"  dot of black Velcro ) and turn wheel to right so that leader over laps the Babe Aid twice.

  17. For Flyer Lead push the leader unto the Babe Aid and turn wheel to the left so the leader over laps the Babe Aid twice.

  18. Use orifice hook to thread the leader through the new style sliding key ring. around the hook and out through the orifice.

  19. Have fun spinning fibers into yarn.
