Joy Knitter
This sample shows you the difference between 44 pegs on left and 88 pegs on the right. The 88 peg was made on the 86 peg starting at the center and working out to the ends. When I got to the end I had the extra pegs make to go in the center at the end of the loom. Here's the picture of the lapghan made on the Joy knitter.
It measures 39" by 44" Took about 4 1/2 skins of Red Heart Grande and 3 skeins of Lopi wool The Lopi is soft spun and rather weak, though that may be due to being in my stash for likely 20 years, it got a bit lost. I used the full width of the Joy, and the figure 8 stitch. Just kept going until it was long enough to go from my waist down over my feet when I sit in the recliner. Great for TV or sitting on chilly winter evenings! I have been asked to teach Knitting without Needles at the Missouri Natural Colored Wool Growers Assoc. show, known locally here in Missouri as the Wool fest in Nevada MO. Will show the different kinds and teach the basic stitches while giving info on the "fancy" stitches. OH ME, like I really needed another project! Will teach Inkle weaving in March. May not have much time to play with the new Joy but will make sure I try it out. Alice Murphy
On the left is knitting on 44 peg and on the right 88 peg loom.
Knitting on 88 peg loom which started out on the 86 peg to the end the 2 center pegs were add at the ends so you get a perfect round hat.
Knit on a Joy Knitter 44 peg.
Comparison between the 44 peg and 88 peg The top hat is an adult hat made from the 44 peg and the bottom adult hat is made from the fine gage, pegs 1/2" center to center of pegs, 88 peg. On the fine gage I made my own patter by starting with 8 pegs the then increasin 2 pegs on each end.
