Big River Spinning Wheel Assembly Instructions.

1.  Layout all the parts on the floor

2.  Find the parts for the base and layout like picture on the floor.

3.  Assemble leg with tee fitting unto the upper right elbow.

4. Now push the base assemblies together at the couplings.  Insert a screw into each coupling.

5  Turn the three legs down and clamp on the treadle leg where marked.  Put in the 4 screws to hold them in place.

6  Stand up the Maiden and put in the screws.

7.  Assemble main wheel shaft and put in screw.

8.  Assemble main shaft to the Tee fitting in the base.

9.  Assemble seven of the wheel spokes to the wheel by pushing the grove in the pipe on the ridge on the wheel then inserting the machine and put on the wing nut.

10.  Assemble the black belt (Rim) onto the seven spokes then assemble the eight spoke which will tighten the belt.

11.  Check to be sure all the screw are in place.

12. Hang the two drive band on the wheels.  Smallest goes on the small wheel.

13  Snap on the treadle to the treadle leg.

14.  Put the red pipe into elbow of Rodman and then in the tee on the end of the treadle. You had to take out the two machine screws so put them in place

15.  Decide which wheel you want to use and the stretch the drive band over rear bearing tube so the it is below the bearing hole.

16.  Put the spindle in place and use the leather strap to hole it in place and not fall on your foot.

17.  Put the drive band on the whorl you would like to use.

18.  Stand in front to line up the drive band.  you do this with the use of the oak dowel.  When you have it lined up you might need to tight the pipe clamps with a screw drive.

19.  Start spinning fibers into yarn.
